Fireteam setup
Halo: Campaign Evolved Co-op
Online campaign co-op supports up to four players across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with full cross-play between those platforms.
Two-player split-screen co-op is available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The PC version does not support split-screen, so PC players join online fireteams rather than sharing a screen.
Cross-play and cross-progression require a linked Microsoft account. Campaign progress, collectible progress, and achievements synchronize across linked platforms, but an exact mid-mission checkpoint and player position do not carry over. Guest accounts are not supported—every player needs their own linked account.
Subscriptions and offline play
Online co-op requires a platform subscription: Xbox online multiplayer needs a Game Pass subscription that includes online play, and PlayStation 5 online play needs PlayStation Plus. PC players on Steam need no extra subscription beyond the free Xbox Network account.
Steam supports offline solo play after the initial account link. On PlayStation 5, players can play offline solo or local two-player co-op after linking. The conservative reading of the saved guidance is that offline mode covers solo and local console co-op, while full online fireteams stay online.
